Parole Board Makes a Special Dedication in Memory of Patrick Price
Atlanta - Today, November 3, 2015, the State Board of Pardons and Paroles dedicated the Board’s law library in memory of Patrick K. Price. The library is now named the Patrick K. Price Memorial Law Library.
Price passed away suddenly September 29, 2015, at the age of 30, while working at his office in the Board’s headquarters in Atlanta. At the Board’s monthly meeting, which the Price family attended, Vice Chairman James Mills stated that Price is missed. “He is more alive and well than ever before. He was so much a part of this agency.”
At the meeting, Deputy Executive Director Rita Rocker read a resolution from Secretary of State Brian Kemp which was followed by Executive Director of Parole Chris Barnett reading and presenting a letter from Governor Nathan Deal.
Director Barnett thanked the Price family for attending.
“It was such an honor, the time we got to share with Patrick. He is missed greatly by his parole family,” Barnett stated.
The Board Resolution was then read recognizing Price’s extraordinary service to the Board, the state of Georgia and its citizens.
Price’s career, although brief in years, included serving as a parole officer in Marietta, and later as Assistant Chief Parole Officer. He was promoted in early 2015 to Strategic Planning, Initiatives and Innovations Coordinator, where he worked on the Board’s new mission statement and strategic plan. Price assisted with legislative affairs during the 2015 session of the General Assembly, and he was instrumental in the Board’s implementation of HB 328 which was adopted during the session.
Brittany Brummel Price, Patrick’s wife, was among the many family members present.
