Josh Waters
Mr. Waters most recently served as a civilian attorney with the United States Air Force. In this role he provided legal advice and guidance on wide ranging issues including estate planning, ethics, tort claims, and investigations of various kinds. He also served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney handling criminal matters that arose on Robins Air Force Base.
Immediately prior to his time with the Air Force, Mr. Waters served as the University Counsel at Middle Georgia State University. In this position he provided legal advice and guidance to an institution with over 1,000 employees and an enrollment of approximately 8,000 students.
Early in his legal career, Mr. Waters practiced law in Perry at the law firm of Walker, Hulbert, Gray, and Moore where he worked with clients in areas including estate planning, civil litigation, real estate, and probate.
Additionally, he served in numerous roles in the Georgia Office of the Secretary of State including Executive Director of several state licensing boards and Assistant Director of the Elections Division.
Mr. Waters continues to serve the community and is active on various boards including the Houston County Library Board of Trustees. He has served in several roles with the Perry Rotary Club and the Perry Chamber of Commerce. He is currently a member of Georgia’s Judicial Nominating Commission.
Mr. Waters is a graduate of Houston County High School. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and received his law degree from the University of Mississippi.
