August 2024 Lt. Governor Burt Jones’ Constituent Services Day and Book Drive

The Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles participated in Lt. Governor Burt Jones’ Constituent Services Day and Book Drive. Several state agencies provided information about available services to constituents attending the event in the Floyd Veterans Memorial Building across from the state capitol. The Parole Board also made a positive impact on the Book Drive in support of the Georgia Council on Literacy.

Executive Director of the Parole Board Chris Barnett says the event serves as an excellent opportunity to serve the public. “These events allow our agency to talk to citizens about who we are and what we do to positively impact public safety and how we can engage the public to be active participants in the parole process to ensure Georgia remains the best state to live, work, and raise a family,” said Barnett.

Rita Rocker, Deputy Executive Director for Parole, says the agency’s (book) donations helped push total “Book Drive” donations over the goal. “For an agency with fewer than 200 employees, to donate more than 200 books, we’re proud of our effort, our employees and of our awesome Human Resources office which led the effort,” said Rocker.
