Senate Appropriations Criminal Justice & Public Safety Subcommittee
During the legislative session, the State Board of Pardons and Paroles has been active in meeting with Georgia's representatives to ensure excellent communication and present a clear understanding of how the agency is working to ensure the board members have all available information to make scientific, data-driven, and informed clemency decisions. Senator John Albers, Chair of the Senate Appropriations Criminal Justice & Public Safety Subcommittee, recently visited the Board. "We had the great opportunity to host Georgia Senator John Albers at the office following our House and Senate budget subcommittee meetings. During our visit, we were able to provide a quick overview of our operations, the Board's consideration process (provided by Chairman Terry Barnard via conference call), and highlights of the critical public safety role the Board plays in today's criminal justice system," said Chris Barnett, Executive Director of the Parole Board.
