Georgia Office of Victim Services at the Victim-Witness Assistance Conference

The Georgia Office of Victim Services (GOVS), a division of the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles, engaged victim advocates at the Victim-Witness Assistance Conference in St. Simons Island. "Our state victim services office is recognized nationally," says Chris Barnett, Executive Director of the Parole Board. "Under the direction of GOVS Director Rita Rocker and Deputy Director Keir Chapple, the office is keeping registered crime victims notified and providing victim information to the parole board members as they consider parole-eligible offenders. By engaging the local victim service offices across the state, we are strengthening those services provided to victims in Georgia," added Barnett.
