Georgia Department of Corrections' Warden Steven Perkins Retirement
The Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles congratulates Georgia Department of Corrections Warden Steven Perkins on his retirement! Perkins retires as the Warden of the Metro Reentry Facility. Parole Board Vice Chair David Herring and Board Member Tim Ward made presentations to Perkins. Herring presented Perkins with a Board proclamation commemorating his years of service to Georgia. "Warden Perkins has done a tremendous job preparing offenders for success after their release from this facility. He's been a valuable partner for the Parole Board," stated Vice Chair Herring. Ward, the former Commissioner of the Department of Corrections, gave Perkins his last “Commissioner’s Coin.” Perkins retired with more than 30 years of service. The Metro Reentry Facility reopened in 2018 as a reentry prison.
