GACDL Spring Seminar 2023

The Georgia Parole Board continues to engage, educate and encourage participation in the parole process. Executive Director Chris Barnett and staff recently engaged the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (GACDL) at the organization's spring conference at Jekyll Island.

"By engaging organizations that know offenders, we are ensuring the Board Members have all available information before making parole decisions," says Chris Barnett, the Executive Director of the State Board of Pardons and Paroles. "It's important for the Board to hear from anyone with information about an offender. It's the basis for the best parole decisions which results in enhanced public safety. We appreciate GACDL's partnership with the Board," Barnett added. Our operational E's are: Engaging Stakeholders, Educating Communities, Encouraging Active Participation in the parole process, and Enhancing Operations. "Because of our operations, we are enhancing public safety," Barnett stated.
