January 2022 Board Meeting
Georgia State Board of Pardons & Paroles monthly board meeting for January 2022. Monthly meetings include agency operational updates, policy discussion, and presentations to the board. The meetings do not include parole considerations/decisions for parole-eligible offenders. Parole decisions are made daily by the Board Members. Decisions are evidence-based, data-driven, and members carefully consider which offenders should be released on parole.
January's monthly meeting included introducing the agency's new Clemency Director, Crystal Moon. The five-member Parole Board approved policy updates and received presentations from the agency divisions and support offices. Three of the five members attended the meeting by phone.
