Braxton T. Cotton
State Board of Pardons and Paroles
Served as a police officer with the Milledgeville Police Department; as a detective with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office (2004 Officer of the Year); State Trooper (84th Trooper School/Georgia State Patrol); Executive Protection Unit (Governor’s Office); In 2012, appointed as Executive Director of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, becoming the youngest African American agency leader in Georgia history; In 2013, appointed as Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Transition, Support and Reentry. He graduated from Georgia Military College and serves as a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves; deployed August 2018 – May 2019. Army Achievement Medal recipient.
