David Herring Retires from State Service
David Herring has retired from state service after more than 35 years. He completed a partial term on the State Board of Pardons and Paroles in 2018 and was reappointed by Governor Nathan Deal to a full seven-year term, completing the term in December 2025. At the Parole Board, Herring served as chair and vice chair, serving with distinction, and leading the agency through many operational enhancements. Co-workers, family, and friends celebrated with him at events in January 2026.
