The Georgia Office of Victim Services' Comfort Dog Asher & the Critical Incident Stress Management Team

The Georgia Office of Victim Services (GOVS) introduced its new Comfort Dog at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC). Asher and Handler Mandy Kimner will be assisting crime victims and the duo will be available to assist anyone suffering trauma. Georgia Parole Board Chairman David Herring and Executive Director Chris Barnett joined GOVS staff and leadership from both the Georgia Department of Corrections and the Georgia Department of Community Supervision in introducing the Comfort Dog Program. The Georgia Office of Victim Services is supported by and represents all three agencies: the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC), the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles, and the Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS).
