Parole Board's Guidelines Revalidation Process & Stakeholder Partnership
The State Board of Pardons and Paroles continues to engage and collaborate with its criminal justice partners and stakeholders to enhance public safety. Parole Board Members engaged with the Prosecuting Attorneys' Council of Georgia, the Georgia Council of Superior Court Judges, and Applied Research Services (ARS). To ensure the parole decision guidelines rating system reflects not only the best practices in scientific, data-driven decision-making, normed on Georgia offenders but also reflects current community views with the ultimate goal of enhancing public safety for all Georgians.
Agency leadership is actively engaging stakeholders across the state as our Clemency Division participated in the Fall 2022 seminar of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (GACDL). Clemency's leadership and the staff provided their assistance and answered any questions the lawyers had regarding the parole process.
