Richardson is Monroe’s new Chief Parole Officer
Atlanta, GA – The State Board of Pardons and Paroles has promoted Phillip Richardson to Chief Parole Officer of the Monroe Parole District. Richardson was serving as Assistant Chief Parole Officer in Monroe.
Richardson began his professional career with the United States Army in 1977 as an enlisted soldier. Before retiring in 1998 (21 years of service), Richardson had achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class as he led and trained soldiers and junior noncommissioned officers for more than 16-years. Prior to beginning his career with the State Board of Pardons and Paroles, Richardson served as the Neighborhood Network Manager with the Lawton Housing Authority from 2004 to 2007.
Richardson began his career with the State Board of Pardons and Paroles in 2007 as a Parole Officer in the DeKalb Parole District. While serving in DeKalb, Richardson served as a Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) Facilitator and Arrest Team Coordinator. In 2011, Richardson was promoted to Assistant Chief Parole Officer in the Monroe Parole District. He has completed the Parole Board’s Leadership Skills and Management Development Program and serves as the Northeast Region’s Veterans Affairs Liaison.
Richardson is a graduate of Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Ecology with a focus on Family Science.
Richardson’s appointment is effective July 1, 2014.
