District 5 & 10 Meetings of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police

The State Board of Pardons and Paroles is engaging local law enforcement, creating stronger criminal justice partnerships that benefit public safety. Parole leadership met with members of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police (GACP). Field Services Division Director Felecia Holloway represented the board and attended the District 10 meeting of the GACP at the Locust Grove Police Department. Executive Director of the Parole Board, Chris Barnett provided "Parole 101" training to District 5 of the GACP. The District 5 meeting was held at Coastal Pines Technical College.

"The Board appreciates these opportunities to connect with our local law enforcement partners, who are providing front line public safety in our communities. We were able to provide information about our agency and reinforce the necessity of criminal justice partners working together to enhance public safety in Georgia. District 5 Chiefs of Police, command staff and other law enforcement officials (e.g. State & Local) in attendance gained a greater understanding of how they can directly engage in the clemency decision making process to ensure their communities voices are heard," said Barnett.
