Critical Incident Stress Management Training for Georgia Staff

The Georgia Parole Board is partnering with the South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC) regarding "Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM)" training for Georgia staff. The South Carolina CISM team is providing training to Board personnel and the Georgia Office of Victim Services staff.

"We have been working with the SCDC to improve our staff's preparedness in the unfortunate case of a critical incident. We have experienced and knowledgeable personnel, however continuous training and learning are essential to enhancing our responses and services we provide," states Chris Barnett, Executive Director of the Parole Board.

"In addition, look for a major announcement from our agency about enhanced services for crime victims and a new program that we'll be initiating very soon," added Barnett.

The Georgia Office of Victim Services represents and supports registered crime victims. The office is a division of the Georgia Parole Board and is supported by the Parole Board, the Department of Corrections, and the Department of Community Supervision.
