A Week at the State Capitol
The State Board of Pardons and Paroles spent part of the week at the State Capitol as legislators worked on budget items. Executive Director of Parole Chris Barnett spoke to the Senate Criminal Justice & Public Safety Appropriations Subcommittee. "Our state legislators have a difficult yet critical job of allocating tax dollars for the benefit of all Georgians. Our mission at the Parole Board is to ensure funds allocated to the Board are used efficiently and effectively to enhance public safety," stated Barnett. Earlier in the week also included the agency appearing again in front of the House Public Safety Appropriations Subcommittee.
