Eight individuals graduated from the Georgia Department of Corrections' Paulding RSAT Correctional Recovery Academy. Executive Director of Parole Chris Barnett represented the agency and congratulated the graduates. The program at the Paulding Detention Center is a nine-month residential substance abuse treatment program.
"Addiction and substance abuse is the root of so many problems especially for many offenders. We're fortunate in Georgia to have these Georgia Department of Corrections' programs aimed at getting offenders moving in the right direction. These graduates are now on the right path. Though it won't be easy, they understand they can have success with hard work and perseverance," stated Barnett. "The success of offenders is a positive step toward improved public safety," added Barnett.
