Parole Training for Atlanta Bar Members
The Atlanta Bar hosted a presentation about the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles. Georgia Parole Board Vice Chair Jacqueline Bunn, a member of the Georgia State Bar said the parole information was helpful to the Atlanta lawyers and judges. “To effectively navigate the criminal justice process, attorneys and judges need a keen understanding of the parole board's authority, responsibility, and processes," said Bunn. "Clemency, Field Services, and Victims Services staff presented “Parole 101” to Atlanta Bar members in an effort to break down communication barriers. Attorneys representing offenders and judges sentencing offenders can both provide useful information to the Board to help ensure its decisions contribute to public safety," Bunn added.
