Georgia’s Anti-Gang Network Meeting in Griffin, GA
Georgia’s Anti-Gang Network convened in Griffin, Georgia. Local, state, and federal officials spoke about the effort to combat gang activity in our communities.
Georgia parole leadership attended including the Executive Director of the Georgia Parole Board, Chris Barnett. Barnett reminded the group that the State Board of Pardons and Paroles has been an active member of the network since the beginning. "Engaging our law enforcement partners is about sharing information. A fully informed Parole Board results in the best parole decisions. Being a part of Georgia's Anti-Gang Task Force allows the Georgia Parole Board to connect with the officers in the community, share information with the Board, and continue to enhance public safety," stated Barnett.
Rita Rocker, Director of the Georgia Office of Victim Services, attended the meeting in Griffin. “We at the Georgia Office of Victim Services are grateful to have this opportunity to speak to the Anti-Gang Network and to our law enforcement partners on behalf of crime victims. We recognize the importance of the work you do to help bring justice and healing to those affected by the criminal activity of gangs,” Rocker stated. Clemency Director Crystal Moon and Field Services Director Felecia Holloway also attended the meeting.
