Parole Board Training at Tift College

The State Board of Pardons and Paroles continued working with criminal justice partners to make Georgia a safe place to live, work and raise families.

The Parole Board members and parole staff met with officials from several agencies, including the Georgia Department of Corrections, Department of Juvenile Justice, Homeland Security - ICE, and the Georgia Public Safety Training Center as part of the Board's commitment to engaging all stakeholders in the parole process in Georgia.

“Our collaborations with these state and federal agencies regarding the offender population as we prepare for their transition are immeasurable," says Parole Board Chairman Terry Barnard.

“We are all working to provide offenders with opportunities for positive change,” he added.

Executive Director of Parole Chris Barnett says the Board will continue to engage local, state, and federal partners.

“We are sharing information with each other and working toward enhancements to the processes and operations of our individual agencies. As we prepare offenders for reentry, the board continues to make the best-informed decisions benefitting public safety,” states Barnett.

The Parole Board’s training meeting occurred at State Offices South at Tift College in Forsyth.
