Women Working in Corrections and Juvenile Justice National Conference 2021

The parole staff attended the Women Working in Corrections and Juvenile Justice National Conference. The conference is held every two years and provides training sessions and workshops covering leadership development for attendees. The 2021 conference was open to all women working in the corrections and juvenile justice field in any discipline, including peace officers, healthcare providers, administrators, and executives.

The conference featured workshops, guest speakers, training, exhibits, and opportunities for networking. This year the conference was in Savannah, Georgia, and the Georgia Department of Corrections hosted the conference. The theme this year for the conference was “Redefining the Future.”

The parole staff had an information table where they informed conference attendees about the parole process in Georgia. In addition, our team attended many workshops to gain valuable life and leadership skills and learn about how other corrections organizations operate.
