Parole Board Staff Graduate from Corrections Leadership Institute

March 8, 2011;

Atlanta, GA - Two employees of the State Board of Pardons and Paroles recently graduated from the Corrections Leadership Institute. The Georgia Department of Corrections held the graduation ceremony at State Offices South on the Tift Campus in Forsyth, February 25, 2011.

Parole Board Training Director Bert Flewellen and Hearing Examiner Wade Wheeler were the first two Parole Board staff to be members of the CLI. Flewellen and Wheeler were among twenty-five issued CLI certificates by the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government (CVIOG).

Graduates of the program had an opportunity to develop and enhance their leadership abilities through research, problem-solving analysis, presentations, work team projects, and also had opportunities to share experiences with other professionals. The Corrections Leadership program is designed to prepare middle and senior leadership staff for increasing levels of responsibility.
