January 4, 2011;
Governor Sonny Perdue has reappointed Board Member Terry Barnard to the State Board of Pardons and Paroles. Perdue made the reappointment December 31, 2010. Barnard’s new term of office is set to expire December 31, 2017.
Barnard says he welcomes the opportunity to continue his service on the Board. "The work and decisions made by the Board are so vitally important and I am committed to ensuring we do our best to keep the public safe," stated Barnard.
Barnard was initially appointed May 15, 2010, to fill the unexpired term of former member Garland Hunt. Prior to serving on the Board, Barnard was a 16 year veteran of the state legislature including serving six years as Chairman of the House State Institutions and Property Committee.
